About Us

Rabbi and Director 

Rabbi Yeruchem Eilfort was born in Los Angeles and attended Rabbinical Seminaries in New Jersey and Florida. He was ordained in 1987 at the Central Chabad Yeshiva in New York. Rabbi Eilfort and his family moved to Carlsbad in 1990, where he is currently the Director of Chabad at La Costa and Coastal Chabads. Rabbi Eilfort has published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines and served as Editor in Chief of a Jewish newsmagazine. He has also hosted a radio show and was a long-time scholar on Askmoses.com.

Rebbetzin

Mrs. Nechama Eilfort was born in Boston MA and grew up in Brooklyn. Mrs. Eilfort was a popular Scholar on Askmoses.com. She has spoken on panels at SDSU, to groups such as Brandeis Women and ORT and at High Schools in Southern California. Currently Mrs. Eilfort acts as lead teacher at Coastal Gan, the preschool at Coastal Chabads and co-Director of Ckids Club, the Hebrew school program of Coastal Chabads. Mrs. E. is one of a handful of female JLI instructors, giving classes regularly at Chabad at La Costa.  

Youth Directors

Rabbi and Rebbetzin of Chabad of Encinitas - Rabbi Elia and Chaya Eilfort with their sons, Dovey, Follie, Leib, and Meir - will be joining us for the High Holiday season. They will be supervising and organizing youth programs for the holidays. Rabbi Elia was raised right here in Carlsbad and his wife Chaya was raised in Miami Lakes FL.

Rabbi Elia is the associate Rabbi of Chabad at La Costa and Rabbi and Director of Chabad of Encinitas.

Chaya is the co-Director of Chabad of Encintias, Director of Coastal Gan, the preschool of Coastal Chabads and co-Director of Ckids Club, the Hebrew School program of Coastal Chabads. 

Cantor/Chazan

Rabbi Yossi and Muka Rodal, of Friendship Circle of SD, will be joining our High Holiday staff, along with their children, Dovid, Reizi, and Lily.

Rabbi Yossi, our son-in-law from Milan, Italy will be our Chazan, leading the prayers with his heartfelt singing and beautiful voice.

Rabbi Dovi Gorelik will be our guest Chazan, his heavenly voice uplifting our souls for this coming New Year.
