Message from the Rabbi

The Hebrew name for Egypt, “Mitzrayim,” is etymologically linked to the word “meitzarim,” meaning boundaries or limitations. The Exodus from Egypt, which we commemorate every year during Passover, represents our liberation from constraints both physical and spiritual.

Passover is a time to relive the Exodus, to break free from personal limitations, and to grow closer to G‑d. As we gather around the Seder table, let us embrace the unique structure of this year’s holiday as an opportunity to renew our commitment to our spiritual journey.

This year, Passover begins on Saturday night, immediately following Shabbat, leading into a three-day holiday—a sequence that is both rare and significant. Preparing for this extended holiday requires thoughtful planning. All cooking and preparations must be completed before candle-lighting on Friday, as cooking is prohibited on Shabbat. While cooking is permitted once Shabbat ends, from a pre-existing flame, organizing meals in advance can help minimize effort and allow us to focus on the spiritual aspects of the holiday.

As always, we focus not just on the technicalities, but on the meaning behind them: freedom, faith, and the power of redemption. May this Passover bring true liberation, with the coming of Moshiach speedily in our days!

Shabbat shalom and chag sameach!

URGENT APPEAL

My Dearest Friends,

Please excuse the uniform nature of this email. I have run out of time and needed to reach everyone right away. We are in a critical situation.

It is Erev Pesach, the Eve of Passover. Traditionally Jews have given Tzedakah at this time of year to help others who are less fortunate. Our annual appeal that went out in last week’s mail has had a minimal response. At the same time, we have been sending out food, giving out Passover supplies, and have been working harder than ever to bring meaningful spiritual nourishment to you, our community. We have provided thousands of dollars of emergency relief to people living in their cars, out of work, at risk of losing their apartments, who couldn’t pay for their electricity, or for their prescriptions.

We are burning the wick at both ends – more expenditures and less income.

I am asking for your help now.

I know it is a scary time. I understand the Market has tanked. I realize that we are all facing uncertainty.

But I also know that G-d is greater than any of our individual or communal challenges! I know that He wants us to help each other. I know that this is our opportunity to shine! And I know that the Talmud tells us that Tzedakah saves from death!

These are historical times. G-d willing, we will be through the worst of this in the very near future (hopefully weeks, not years). In a year’s time we will look back at these events and we will ask ourselves, “Did we do all that we could do for each other?”

Please feed the hungry. Please provide money so we can continue to support our community in its time of need. I know I am asking for something very difficult. But I am asking, and I am asking YOU. And I am asking that you act NOW.

Please follow this link and make an immediate contribution to our Passover fund, which is going directly to help those who need it most. Your donation will make a big difference! www.ChabadatLaCosta.com/donate .

May G-d respond with miraculous mercy due to our mercy and may He bless each one of us with a Happy, Sweet, and HEALTHY Passover!

With much love and appreciation,

Rabbi Eilfort

PASSOVER PLANS

EREV PESACH SCHEDULE FOR SHABBOS, APRIL 12TH

Since this Saturday is Erev Pesach and we must not eat any Chametz (leavened products) after 10:39am, but at the same time we are prohibited from eating Matzah until the Seder on Saturday night, we have adjusted our schedule.

Services will begin at 7:30am (you read that correctly) and conclude by 9:30am. The Rabbi will then make Kiddush and we will have some Challah (in the breezeway making sure not to leave even a crumb unaccounted for). We have the Mitzvah of ‘Bi’ur Chametz’ the destruction of Chametz, which must be completed no later than 11:44am. When Erev Pesach is on Shabbos, instead of burning the Chametz, we flush it.

Later in the day people can eat something that is Kosher for Passover so that they don’t come to the Seder on Saturday night famished.

If you have any questions, please contact the Rabbi.

YOU ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE

We are always seeking additional sponsors, so if you can sponsor a Kiddush, please let us know.

An Important Note about Kiddushes –

The policy of the shul is to allow multiple sponsors for every Kiddush unless it is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah or something similar (like a 50th wedding anniversary etc.).

There is no such thing as an exclusive Kiddush sponsor.

This is our policy for numerous reasons, not least of which is the fact that Kiddush sponsorships help generate much-needed income for our community and encourages more people to participate.

We thank you for your support and understanding!

RABBI'S WEEKLY ARTICLE
Rabbi's Thoughts and Haftarah Overview

The Time of Our Freedom: Passover in the Modern World

By: Rabbi Yeruchem Eilfort

Pesach/Passover is almost here! Jews the world over are deeply engaged in their preparation for this unique and consequential holiday. Our sleeves are rolled up and our mops are in motion, as we expunge every last crumb of leavened products, called Chametz in Hebrew, from our homes, businesses, and even cars.

Why are we so obsessed with the removal of innocent crumbs? Well, when we learn what Chametz represents we quickly realize that it is not so innocent. In fact, as we take a deeper dive into understanding this interesting Jewish law, we will find that it is the very key to achieving true freedom.

Allow me to explain.

Our Rabbis tell us that Chametz represents our egos, which cause a person to be arrogant and angry, judgmental and stand-offish. Our ego stands in the way of achieving true closeness with our Creator and with our fellow human beings. An egotistical person is utterly self-centered. He is a narcissist, for he feels himself to be the be all and end all of the created universe.

The arduous process of removing the Chametz physically from our possession, is meant to spur us on to removing the self-consuming ego from our characters.

Think about it: when one is completely egotistical, he views everyone as being inferior to him, and that ultimately, he is owed everything. Well, what happens when he doesn’t get everything or when everyone doesn’t bow to him giving him his due? He becomes angrier and less happy. He cannot possibly be satisfied with his life. In short, he has become a miserable wretch, all due to his outsized ego.

The Torah, the depository of divine wisdom, commands us (as opposed to suggesting to us) to make sure we don’t own even a crumb of Chametz during Pesach.

But if we have removed the leavened foods, most prominently bread, what then will serve as the staple of our dietary existence? Enters the Matzah, the flat bread, known as Poor Man’s Bread and as the Bread of Faith.

Once a year for a bit longer than a week we radically adjust our diets, which helps us internalize this message. We scour our homes, but also ourselves, and rid ourselves of every vestige of Chametz.

Then, and only then, are we ready to celebrate the Festival of our Freedom. We have been freed of our inner Pharoah, that jaundiced ego that had us convinced of our own infallibility, of our superiority, of our entitlement. Since it has been muted there is room for our inner G-dly voice to be heard. It is this G-dly voice that tells us to be grateful for everything we have, to treasure our fellow human beings, and to celebrate our loving G-d who embraces us, enlightens us, and who leads us to the Promised Land.

“Wait one minute!,” you may demand. If Chametz is so terrible why then are we able to resume eating it after Passover? Isn’t Chametz Treif (non-Kosher)? If Chametz represents the ego, and we know that it is Kosher to eat it, other than on Passover itself, we must drill down into the Jewish view of the ego.

Ironically, the ego is not considered completely evil all the time. In fact, we strongly believe that the ego has an essential purpose in our universe. It is the ego that helps keep us behaving in an appropriate way, even when we don’t feel ourselves to be in the Presence of the Almighty. One is walking along and sees someone drop a wallet filled with money. He may be tempted to keep the ‘found money’. But his ego will pipe up and say, “It is beneath your dignity to keep something that belongs to someone else.” Perhaps one is with friends, and they begin badmouthing a colleague, his ego is quick to respond and to say to him, “you are not an innuendo-peddling do nothing who sits in the corner of the market selling junk!” “Lashon Harah – evil gossip – is beneath you!”

We are not meant to view ourselves as worthless beings who are only worthy of being stomped upon. No indeed. We are meant to view ourselves as children of the King of Kings, and as such we must behave appropriately.

We see that a healthy, balanced ego is actually an essential part of a healthy psyche. It is the holiday of Passover that reminds us to reign in those egos. Cleanse them. Refine them. And then we are ready to redeploy them in a positive way.

Now we are truly free. And now we are truly happy. We are ready, willing, and able to share the story of our national redemption with our friends, family, and most especially our precious children. They will see our faces shine as we join ourselves with our ancestors and community in the holy rituals of this singular holiday. They will remember, and they will emulate this when they have houses and families of their own.

Wishing everyone a Kosher, sweet, and joyous holiday!

Shabbos Hagadol on Erev Pesach

Haftorah for Shabbat Hagadol (Shabbat before Passover)

According to Chabad custom, this haftorah is only read when  Shabbat Hagadol falls on the day before  Passover.

Malachi 3:4-24.

This haftorah is read when Shabbat coincides with the eve of Passover. In biblical times, the day before Passover was the deadline for giving tithes, and this haftorah discusses the importance of giving tithes. Additionally, the haftorah contains prophesies about the future redemption, and is thus read on the Shabbat that precedes the holiday when we celebrate our first redemption.

The prophet Malachi begins with a strong rebuke for all evildoers, and specifically those who withhold their tithes. "Will a man rob G‑d? Yet you rob Me, and you say, 'With what have we robbed You?' [My response:] 'With tithes and with the terumah-levy.'"  G‑d then exhorts the Jews to be meticulous with their tithing: "Bring the whole of the tithes into the treasury so that there may be nourishment in My House, and test Me now, please, says the L-rd of Hosts, [and see] if I will not open for you the sluices of heaven and pour down for you blessing until there be no room to suffice for it!"

The prophet then chastises the people for saying that there is no reward in following G‑d's laws and that the wicked go unpunished. To which G‑d responds that nothing is forgotten, the righteous will be rewarded and the wicked will be punished when the time comes. The prophet then depicts the rewards and punishments.

The prophet reminds the Jewish people to adhere to Moses' Torah, and ends with a message about the future redemption: "Lo, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of the L-rd... that He may turn the heart of the fathers back through the children, and the heart of the children back through their fathers…"

Haftarah for the 1st Day of Passover

Joshua 3:5-7; 5:2:15; 6:1; 6:27

The haftarah for today mentions the Paschal sacrifice, echoing the Torah portion which describes the preparations and the sacrifice done in Egypt under Moses' leadership.

After thirty days of mourning Moses' passing, Joshua tells the people to prepare themselves for the crossing of the river Jordan, he tells the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant in front of the people. G‑d tells Joshua that He will show his greatness to the people of Israel "that they may know that as I was with Moses, so will I be with you".

G‑d tells Joshua to circumcise the Jewish men who had not yet been circumcised due to the desert weather, he does so, reminding them of the previous generation of men, who had gone out of Egypt, who had all been circumcised before partaking of the Passover offering. Joshua reminds the people of past events, how they had to wait for that generation to die in the desert as they would not be able to enter the land of Israel. Once everyone was circumcised they waited for all the men to recover.

G‑d tells Joshua "this day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you", referring to a vision of the star of blood which the Egyptians had said was over the Jewish people at the time of the Exodus, not knowing that it was the blood of the circumcision. Joshua calls the place Gilgal. There the people of Israel make camp and offer the Passover sacrifice, two days later G‑d stop sending the manna and the people eat the produce of the land.

Joshua sees a sword-holding man on the outskirts of Jericho and asks him on whose side he is on. "And he said, No, but I am the the captain of the host of the L-rd; I have now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and prostrated himself, and said to him, What does my lord say to his servant? And the captain of the Lord's host said to Joshua, Remove your shoe from your foot; for the place upon which you stand is holy. And Joshua did so."

The haftorah ends with a message that the city of Jericho was under siege and that G‑d was with Joshua.

Haftarah for the Second Day of Passover

II Kings 23:1-9, 21-25

The haftarah for the second day of Passover begins after King Josiah learns of a historic Torah scroll that had been discovered in the Holy Temple. It chronicles the public reading of the scroll and the national movement toward return to G‑d that ensued.

Full of newfound inspiration, King Josiah had the idolatrous artifacts and priests removed from the Temple, and destroyed the other shrines that had been erected in Judea.

The king then encouraged the people to celebrate Passover as commanded in the Torah, something that had been neglected for generations.

The  haftarah concludes by telling us that “there never was a king before [Josiah] who returned to G‑d with all his heart and all his soul and all his might, [to follow what was] written in the Torah of Moses, and there never afterwards arose another one like him.”

Volunteering

Our Soup and Challah Project has been going on its FOURTH year! It was sponsored by Channah Hale and now carried on in her memory.

We are at the point that we need NEW volunteers to drive and deliver food packages around the area.

Please consider making this a part of your Friday routine. Volunteers pick up a few containers of soup and bags of challah at 3:00pm and delivering them to the door of the recipients. Volunteers also get soup and challah!

Enhanced Security

Our number one priority is to ensure the safety and security of our shul family. We have a robust security system in place. We have gone to the added expense of hiring a uniformed, armed guard, who is with us, watching over us, in addition to our internal security team.

The added layer of security is expensive. Please help us by donating to the security of our shul community by following this link: www.chabadatlacosta.com/donate. The cost is approximately $300 per week. All donations are tax-deductible.

Create Your Jewish Legacy Plan for the Future - Now

We have been blessed with life! Yet, we know that no one lives forever. This begs the question, “What will your legacy be?” Most of us have children, and they certainly should figure prominently into our plans. But our children are only a part of what we leave behind. Just as we endeavor to give Tzedakah generously, so as to selflessly make the world a better place while we are alive, so too we need to make sure that we leave a percentage of our estates for the benefit of others. Judaism tells us that it is incumbent upon us to leave the world better than when we found it. We do this by giving Tzedakah.

We can help.

Chabad has partnered with the Jewish Community Foundation in the creation of our Legacy Circle "Generation to Generation - Ensuring a Jewish Tomorrow, Today".  Many people do not prepare appropriately for the inevitable. They do not leave a will, or even if they do it is not consistent with Jewish Law. If one wants his body to be handled with the respect and care mandated by Jewish Law or if one wants the funeral service conducted according to Jewish Law, it must be arranged in advance. Don’t leave these critical details to luck!

Contact Rabbi Eilfort for a private appointment so these important matters can be handled how you want.

Send a personal email to [email protected] to schedule an appointment today.

Shabbat Services with Meaning & Joy

Every Saturday we get together to celebrate the holy Shabbat in song and prayer. Our services are both traditional and user-friendly, as we fully recognize that not everyone has experience Davening (praying) in a traditional setting. What those who have joined have found is that the atmosphere in our synagogue is conducive to meaningful meditation. A knowledge of Hebrew is not necessary to participate. In fact, the only thing that is needed is the desire to learn and to connect to the Almighty. It is an enriching experience not to be missed! Shabbat services begin at 10am and conclude at approximately 12:30pm and are followed by a wonderful community lunch. There is no cost to attend and reservations are not needed.

Membership

NOW is the time to join the family! Membership includes High Holiday seats and discounts on other programs and activities. However, the main reason to join is to demonstrate your commitment to the future of Judaism in our area and to our community.

If you have already filled out and returned your Membership form please accept this message as our sincere thank you!

We urge you to pick the level of Membership and the financial commitment you feel comfortable with, and to fill out the form that you will find by following this link: www.ChabadatLaCosta.com/membership. We thank all of our amazing donors!

Belonging to a Jewish Community is not only gratifying and fulfilling it is also extremely important, for within the community one finds a place to connect with G-d and one’s soul, a place of learning and spiritual enrichment, a great source of friends, a place to bestow one’s Jewish legacy upon his or her child/ren, and so much more. Check out   www.ChabadatLaCosta.com to learn more.

The beauty of OUR Jewish Community is that we offer so many different options that everyone is sure to find something enriching and meaningful. Below please find a partial list of some of our current offerings. If you have never come by before pick an item or two and try it out. If you have already tried an item or two find another one that sounds interesting and give it a whirl. “Connection” – that is the name of the game and that is precisely what you will find here!

Shul Etiquette

Those who join us regularly for Shabbat services will agree that we have something very special going. The family-friendly atmosphere is unique and most inviting. We welcome everyone as though he/she is a long time member of the family.

At the same time it is important to remember that we are a synagogue. Our sanctuary is meant to be a place where it is conducive to finding inner peace and tranquility. That is why the Rabbis have many laws concerning the decorum of a shul.

It is appropriate to dress modestly and to dress somewhat formally in shul. Men should wear button down shirts, slacks (no jeans or shorts), with jackets and even ties when possible. Of course the head is to be kept covered at all times. Women should wear skirts that go past the knees and blouses with high neck lines and sleeves that cover the elbows. Married women should wear hats and the like.

Children must be supervised at all times by the parents except during Junior Congregation (11:30am). While we want the children to have a great time together it is also important that they do not become so wild and/or boisterous that they disturb those of us who are participating in the services.

We must remember that we should walk to shul and never park in the parking lot if there already eight cars parked. Finally, and we fully realize this goes against Jewish DNA, it is appropriate to come to shul ON TIME. While we know everyone is vying to be counted as the 10th, we are equally sure Hashem will give extra credit to those who come ON TIME at 10am (not to be confused with 11:30). We look forward to seeing you here!

Cell Phones & Chatting During Services

Needless to say the sanctuary on Shabbat or holidays is a place that must be conducive to reflective prayers and serenity. To help keep it this way, please refrain from engaging in any conversations during services and please do not bring in your cell phone. Thank you for your cooperation.

Critical Maintenance Issue – Your Cooperation Needed

PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY thing that may be flushed is toilet paper – NO EXCEPTIONS. This means tissue, baby wipes, paper towels, or any other product may NEVER be flushed, but instead must be disposed of in the provided trash receptacles.

THANK YOU for your cooperation!

Public Service Announcement – Let’s Work TOGETHER to Maintain OUR Shul

We have a beautiful shul. Everyone agrees. It is not easy to maintain everything, but we work hard to keep things clean and in good working order. We need your help.

Our sanctuary is graced with gorgeous, custom made, stained glass windows. These windows MUST be kept in pristine condition. Please respect the windows by only looking and never touching them. G-d forbid, they can easily be scratched if we are not careful. Also, please do not put ANY objects (cups, books, tissues etc.) on the window sills as it detracts from the windows.

Our custom-built furniture from Israel is as precious as it looks. People have put down cups (full and empty) on the partitions and the shelves. This is inappropriate. Children cannot sit on or climb on the furnishings – other than sitting in the pews as they were designed to be used. No exceptions.

Please put away your own Talis and prayer books, and replace the book racks when done using them. Please throw away your own garbage.

If we can all work together we will keep our shul beautiful!

THANK YOU for your understanding and cooperation.

Message from the Rabbi

This week, we begin reading the book of Leviticus, which opens with the word “Vayikra—And He called.” Commentators note the word’s affectionate tone, emphasizing G-d’s love for Moses and the significance of every teaching in the Torah. The essence of Vayikra is holiness: how to sanctify our lives through sacrifices and service. These lessons remind us that G-d calls upon each of us to uplift the mundane into the sacred.

This week also serves as preparation for the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s birthday next week, on 11 Nissan. This date is marked by Education and Sharing Day in the USA, and in states and municipalities around the world. The Rebbe dedicated his life to calling on every individual to recognize their unique mission and potential. Central to his vision was education—not just as the transfer of knowledge, but as the cultivation of character and holiness. He saw education as the key to a society built on morality and goodness, a society where children are guided to transform their world into a dwelling place for G-d.

Just as G-d called Moses with love and purpose, we are called to educate our children with the same love, instilling in them a sense of divine mission. The Rebbe taught that every child is a “mini-sanctuary,” whose potential can bring immense light to the world.

May we answer G-d’s call with dedication and joy, ensuring that every act of education and kindness transforms our world into a place of holiness and peace, to be actualized with the coming of Moshiach and the Ultimate Redemption!

Your donation will make a big difference! www.ChabadatLaCosta.com/donate.

May G-d respond with miraculous mercy due to our mercy and may He bless each one of us with a Happy, Sweet, and HEALTHY Passover!

With much love and appreciation,

Rabbi Eilfort

PASSOVER PLANS

IF YOU WANT THE RABBI TO ARRANGE TO SELL YOUR CHAMETZ PLEASE INFORM THE OFFICE VIA EMAIL NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, APRIL 6TH.

It is prohibited to eat or even own Chametz on Passover. The every day utensils we use in our kitchens have the Chametz designation and must be Koshered or otherwise disposed of. Rather than throwing away all of our non-Kosher for Passover pots and pans and food the Rabbis permit us to sell our Chametz. This entails locking it away and appointing the Rabbi to serve as your agent in transferring the ownership status to one who is allowed to own it. Immediately after the holiday the Rabbi re-acquires the Chametz for us.

This process does not happen automatically. You must appoint the Rabbi to act in your behalf.

Those who wish Rabbi Eilfort to arrange this for you must let him know, via email ONLY, no later than 5pm on Sunday, April 6th.

EREV EREV PESACH MINYAN WITH SIYUM THIS COMING THURSDAY, APRIL 10TH

EREV PESACH SCHEDULE NEXT SHABBOS, APRIL 12TH

We will offer our annual Erev Passover Minyan with Siyum (conclusion of a Talmudic Tractate, which negates the necessity of fasting under certain circumstances), on Thursday, April 10th at 8:30am. The Siyum will be held immediately following the morning service. First born males must fast on this day unless they attend a Siyum. The entire service and Siyum will be completed by 9:30am.

Since next Saturday is Erev Pesach and we must not eat any Chametz (leavened products) after 10:39am, but at the same we are prohibited from eating Matzah until the Seder on Saturday night, we have adjusted our schedule.

PART II OF ANNUAL PASSOVER LECTURE SERIES – THIS TUESDAY @ 7PM

Rabbi Eilfort will be offering part II of the Passover Preparation lecture series titled, “Passover 101: Practical Preparation & Seder Insights” on Tuesday, April 8th, from 7 – 8:30pm. Coastal Chabads will be offering a full array of program for the upcoming holiday of Pesach / Passover including two Community Seders (one in Chabad at La Costa and the second one at Chabad of Encinitas) and Holiday Services. Our informative Passover brochure is scheduled to be mailed this week with all the relevant information.

The Shul will have special, hand-baked Shmurah Matzah (from the Ukraine) available for sale at $20 per pound. Also, you can also grant the rabbi your power of attorney to sell your Chametz (leavened products that are forbidden even to be owned over Passover).

Please let us know asap what your needs are, and we will be happy to help.

Kiddush Sponsor – SPONSORS SOUGHT

The shul has been Koshered for Passover.

Rabbi will make Kiddush and we will have some Kosher for Passover cakes, but there will be no formal Kiddush this week.

Thank you, sponsors, and G-d bless you for this wonderful Mitzvah!

Everyone is invited to join us at this beautiful weekly gathering of our community.

THIS WEEK’S KIDDUSH MENU

Passover Cakes

ADDITIONAL SPONSORS ARE WELCOME.

Each Shabbos after services, our beautiful community enjoys Shabbos lunch together. It is a true celebration where we bask in each other’s company while savoring delicious food.

Shabbos Parshas VaYikra

Isaiah 43:21-44:23.

This week's haftorah starts with a rebuke to the Israelites for abandoning the Temple's sacrificial service. Sacrifices are the dominant topic of the week's Torah reading, too.

The prophet Isaiah rebukes the Israelites for turning away from G‑d and refraining from offering sacrifices, turning to idolatry instead. G‑d exhorts the people to return to Him, promising to forgive their transgressions, as is His wont.

The prophet then mentions the futility of serving empty idols which may be crafted by artisans but "neither see nor hear nor do they know…" The  haftorah concludes with G‑d's enjoinder to always remember Him and to return to Him.

New Mitzvah Opportunity

Bikur Cholim of SD Volunteers Needed! Message me if you would like me to share the spreadsheet for visitation hours.

There are a number of patients at UCSD La Jolla that have come from Israel to receive transplants here. They need our help!

Bikur Cholim of S Diego is a community organization helping the sick with care packages, visitation, driving spouses to and from the hospital, etc.

If you are able to give a few hours of your time, it will make another person's day that much better!

The Foundation Project  - City Approved Plan

We are raising funds that will be used towards completing our basement. This project will include a TEEN LOUNGE, MULTIPURPOSE ROOM, a LIBRARY, OFFICES, STORAGE SPACE, BATHROOMS, and more. Call Rabbi to inquire about available dedications. The money we raise also goes towards scholarships for Hebrew School students, our Challah and Chicken Soup program, and all of our ongoing expenses.

Memorial Plaques & Tree of Life Plaques Available

Our beautiful Memorial Boards have been installed. We specifically designed our custom-built bookcases to ‘frame’ each of the boards. The first Memorial Board was dedicated by the Brunelle Family, the second Board was dedicated by the Alter Family, and the new Board has been dedicated by Miriam Reisman in memory of her husband, Harold.

We are currently offering Memorial Plaques to those who wish to perpetually honor the memory of a loved one in a most dignified and permanent manner. Those who dedicate Memorial Plaques will also receive yearly reminders of the Yarzeit in the newsletter and in the calendar and the light on the Board will be illuminated each year on the Yarzeit. The donation is only $500 per Memorial Board plaque.

We also have a gorgeous Tree of Life dedicated by the Lieberman Family that has been ‘growing. The purpose of the plaques on the Tree of Life is to commemorate joyous occasions (like Bar/Bat Mitzvah, anniversaries, special birthdays, weddings etc.). The donation is $180 for a leaf on the Tree of Life.

Those who wish to participate should send an email to   [email protected], or call Rabbi Eilfort at 760-943-8891.

We are excited to designate a section of our Tree of Life to our Legacy Circle. Watch the Tree and see article above.
