A Thought from the Rabbi

Can you hear Moshiach’s footsteps?

There have been some incredible events taking place around the world. The winds are a-changing, and for the better at that!

The honorable US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has been a breath of fresh air. The welcome news that the US will (finally) be moving the US Embassy to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem, has been passionately and eloquently announced (and defended) by the good ambassador.

Before you get taken in by the numerous ‘fake news’ outlets about how this will turn the whole middle east into a cauldron of hate and destruction please consider the following: Israel is THE only country in the world that the UN has tried to deny the right to pick its own capital. The portion in Jerusalem where the Knesset is located is in the part that has always been under Israeli control and has never been and never will be subject to any negotiations. The armistice lines established in 1948 (after all of Israel’s neighbors illegally invaded the Jewish state on its first day of existence) were NEVER meant to be borders in any event. Israel has NO legal obligation to remove her sovereignty over an inch of Jerusalem, west or east. Never has the world united to dictate to another sovereign country where it could place its embassy. The Chutzpah of the UN dictating to the US is astonishing.

So when these ‘fake news’ outlets begin trumpeting their dooms day prognostications you should understand that it is all a bunch of hot air. Even if it would be true, which it isn’t, why should Israel’s capital be chosen by the anti-Semites who seek to destroy her? And that is EXACTLY what this is all about. Bad old anti-Semitism again rearing its ugly head.

Thank G-d, the US is clear-sighted enough to recognize that there is no peace possible without Jerusalem as the Jewish state’s capital. If declaring the obvious is a cause for war there was never any peace to begin with and no peace is possible. The hypocrisy of the world, though no longer a surprise, is still just as sickening as it always has been. The Jews and their state have always been subjected to a double standard. Finally the US is turning the pressure on the Palestinians to make peace instead of the one party that has always made concessions and gestures for peace. The US has FINALLY STOPPED BLAMING THE VICTIM!

Every Jew and every lover of Israel and Hashem owes a sincere thank you to the US government for this change of policy! There is still a very long way to go. The US gives lots of material support to the Palestinian Authority, support that is used to fund terrorism against Israel. The PA must be defunded, its mission in Washington closed down, and to be identified for what it is and what it always has been, a terrorist organization. But this Jerusalem move is a very good start!

Am Yisroel Chai!

Services with Joy & Meaning

Those who attend our Shabbat services always feel better than when they came. Some feel better because they enjoy the beautiful melodies we sing together, while others do because of feelings of closeness with G-d that they experience, while still others enjoy the Rabbi’s sermon. The delicious Kiddush served at the end is a perfect way to bring the entire experience to a successful conclusion as we enjoy each other’s company and wonderful food. Whatever it is you may be seeking in your spiritual life there is a good chance you will find it here every Saturday from 10am – 12:30pm. You don’t have to be an expert in Jewish practice to benefit – you just have to be willing to give it a try. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
